It’s (almost) the most wonderful time of the year — sport show season!
I love heading out on the show circuit with Webber’s Lodges and Henik Lake Adventures, connecting with past guests and making new friends. Attending these shows also allows us to support the great organizations that put on these incredible events.
First up, I’m heading to Reno, Nevada for The Sheep Show, put on by the Wild Sheep Foundation from January 19-21. This is a great event and anyone who knows about this group understands the conservation efforts these people put toward keeping sheep on the mountain. This mandate not only benefits sheep, but also the other wildlife and wild places these animals call home.
Right after those doors close, I’ll be heading south to Las Vegas for the Grand Slam Club/Ovis Slam Quest Convention.
This gathering includes some very well-traveled hunters and it is always interesting to visit with hunters at the booth as they share their international hunting experiences.
Slam Quest runs from January 26-28 and Webber’s Lodges/Henik Lake Adventures will have a couple of hunts up for auction at this event. If you’re planning on attending, bid high and let’s put some money into this conservation group!
Immediately following Slam Quest is the SCI Annual Hunters’ Convention – The Ultimate Sportsmen’s Market. SCI is the most influential pro hunting advocacy group and many pages could be filled detailing the great work they do to benefit hunters.
This is a four-day show running from February 1-4 and we will have another hunt up for auction at this event.
Make sure to attend if you are interested in joining us on the adventure of a lifetime while also donating to such a worthwhile organization.
After a short break I’ll be down in Salt Lake City for the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo from February 16-19.
I remember last years’ show was busy with a lot of young hunters in attendance.
This show is put on by Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife and the Mule Deer Foundation.
Both are quality organizations with conservation as their main focus.
Wasting no time, the next weekend (February 24 and 25) will be spent in Mount Pleasant, Michigan at the SCI Mid Michigan Chapter Convention. We were at this event last year and met some incredible people from the organization. It’s an honour to be invited back for another year and I’m excited to return.
Our last show of the year will be in the Outfitter Hall at the Pope & Young Club Biennial Convention in St. Louis, Missouri. It should be pleasant weather in St. Louis during the April 5-8 event. The Pope & Young Club is one of North America’s leading bowhunting and conservation organizations.
This event is only held every other year, so if you are in the area, be sure to stop by. The North American Big Game Exhibit of the largest archery-taken animals over the last recording period is well worth the price of admission.
Please check our web site under Conventions and Trade Shows for more details on dates, locations and booth numbers for all these shows. We look forward to seeing you!
